Dessert Gallery Celebrates Grand Opening with Great American Bake Sale.
Proceeds to Benefit Share Our Strength in Helping Feed
Hungry Children
Houston -
Dessert Gallery will celebrate the grand opening of its third, and newest,
location at 2260 Lone Star Drive
in Sugar Land Town Square
on November 16, 2007 by sponsoring the "Great American Bake Sale," a campaign created
by the nationwide non-profit hunger organization, Share Our Strength. The bake sale is scheduled to take place at Sugar Land
Town Square
Plaza from 6 to 9 p.m., before
and during the center's "Smooth Jazz On the Square" series. Proceeds will support after-school and summer
feeding programs for children.
"I can't imagine what it
would be like to go hungry," said Sara Brook, owner of Dessert Gallery. "Much less to experience hunger as a small
child. Our goal is to raise money to
help feed these children in our community, and what better way to do this than an
old-fashioned bake sale?" According to Brook, Dessert Gallery's "Great American
Bake Sale" will include several dessert stations set up around Sugar Land
Town Square
Center. Tables
will be heaped with All-American, rich, buttery desserts including decadent brownies
and chocolate chunk cookies, pecan pie bars, cupcakes and more. Cash donations will also be collected for
Share Our Strength during the event.
